National Latin Exam Results

29 Crown Point Latin students took the National Latin Exam at Crown Point High School on March 12, 1999. The National Latin Exam is sponsored by the American Classical League, the professional organization for Latin teachers, and is on the list of activities approved by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Over 104,000 other students from all 50 states and ten foreign countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Union of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and for the first time, Scotland.

Of the 29 CP students taking the exam, 25 received some type of national recognition.

Nota Bene:

1) All ten of the first year students taking the exam received national recognition. Six of them
received gold medals.

2) Crown Point has another perfect paper this year. It belongs to Mr. Robby Schrum, a second
year Latin student.

3) Three of the four students who did not receive national recognition placed at or above the
national average and only missed being recognized by one point.
