The unexamined life is not worth living for a man.
The Apology

The student of Socrates and the teacher of Aristotle, Plato(427-345 B.C.) was one of the three greatest philosophers of ancient Greece. This quotation is taken from his Apology, in which Plato presents a dramatic defense of his mentor and teacher Socrates. In the dialogue, Socrates defends himself at his own trial, against charges of impiety.
