The VRoma Project is welcoming applications to participate in the second VRoma Workshop, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Our previous workshop (July/August 1997), held at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, included some 20 high school, college and university faculty who acquired technological skills, developed teaching materials and collaborative courses for the study of the ancient world, and contributed to the on-line "virtual Rome." The upcoming workshop will be held in July 1998 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Applicants should be motivated, enthusiastic teachers of Latin and Classics and view themselves as dynamic instructors committed to exploring new pedagogical strategies including the application of digital technology.
Successful candidates must
Please note that the selection committee will show some preference for applicants who live and work in reasonable proximity to other current or potential participants in the project. Successful applicants will receive notification of their status by April 15th. For a more detailed description of this project, see The VRoma Project Home Page.
