ISIS-MINERVA-FORTUNA
Isis-Minerva-Fortuna

This Roman bronze statuette, dating from the second century CE, demonstrates the multicultural and synthetic tendencies of Roman religious symbolism. The Medusa-headed aegis indicates that the goddess is Minerva, but she wears on her head the Egyptian crown of Isis and carries in her left hand the cornucopia that was a symbol of the goddess Fortuna, associated with the Greek goddess Tyche, goddess of chance and bringer of luck.
